Raw Materials of Straw Pellet Production Line
As a by-product of agricultural crops, straws were always burnt directly or used to feed animals in the past. However, with the appeal of energy development and environmental protection, more and more biomass materials are researched and adopted to manufacture novel fuels among which straw pellets produced with straw pellet production line has been put in use for many years.
Processing Steps of Straw Pellet Production Line
1.Grinding
Before pelleting, straw should be ground into uniform size of less than 5mm, at this time wood hammer mill can be the best choice.
2. Drying
Straw is often air-dried, with a moisture content of typically 15%. However if the moisture content is higher than 15%, one rotary drum dryer is then necessary.
3. Pelleting
Straw is pressed into pellets under the pressure of straw pellet mill. Common size for straw is 6mm and 8mm.
4. Cooling
After pelleting, straw pellets is with high temperature, so in order to maintain its quality pellets cooling machine is needed.
5. Packing
Use a pellet packing machine to seal straw pellets in bags so that the storage and delivery can be made easier.
Comparison of Straw and Straw Pellets
1.Better combustion features: As we can see, straw pellets have higher calorific value, lower moisture content and less ash content, which makes it a fuel with better combustion features.
2.Environmental friendly: On one hand, straw pellets are carbon-neutral which causes zero CO2 emission. On the other hand, the pollution caused by direct burning can be avoided.
3.Economical benefit: Both the potential market of biomass pellets and the high efficiency of straw pellet plant contribute the fast return of your investment.
4.Easy to store and transport: Density of straw biomass pellets is higher, which reduces their storage space and delivery cost.
Use of Produced Straw Pellets
1. Biomass fuel: Straw pellets can all be used as fuel for industrial burning or home heating.
2. Animal bedding: Animal bedding made with straw pellets has higher absorbency and longer lasting time.
3. Animal feed: Use straw pellets to feed poultry together with other high-protein materials.
